More About North PDX EC
The Oregon Employer Council (OEC) is a partnership between Oregon employers and WorkSource Oregon Employment Department, advocating for employer education and influence in Oregon since 1977.
 
The North Portland Employer Council (NPEC) is a partnership between the Portland business community and WorkSource Oregon Employment Department - North Portland Office.
 
NPEC is represented by a volunteer team of Portland business community employer representatives who serve as advisors to WorkSource Oregon Employment Department to identify and address local employment and workforce challenges. This partnership results in better services for Oregonians. Employers have the opportunity to provide input into services funded by their taxes.
 
The North Portland Employer Council is committed:
To receive advice from the Oregon Employer Council (OEC) in the interest of maintaining a high standard of integrity and efficiency in the operations of WorkSource Oregon Employment Department.
To foster and promote cooperative relationships among Oregon Employers and WorkSource Oregon Employment Department and to seek solutions relating to work force issues.
To involve employers in a problem solving relationship with local and WorkSource Oregon Employment Department offices.
To disseminate useful information and to educate members in the operation of WorkSource Oregon Employment Department
 
To sponsor high quality, low cost, educational opportunities of benefit to employers.
 
Members have–
An opportunity to network with both new and established North/Northeast Business Community and statewide Employers.
A voice in advising the WorkSource Oregon Employment Department North Portland Office in
seeking solutions to local employment and work force challenges, improving response to work force demands.
A voice in increasing employer awareness about work force issues that influence the economic health of the Portland business community and Oregon.
A voice in building nationwide coalitions in an effort to release adequate monies to fund the Employment Security System.
A voice in educating employers about human resource issues through local seminars, luncheon speakers, statewide conferences and events.
