  • Mother Nature wallops Oregon highways
Oregon 22 near Sublimity flooded on Jan. 18
Stormy weather brought snow, rain, wind, ice, flood, slides and more to Oregon this month. ODOT employees and contractors worked around the clock to clear highways as safely and quickly as possible. Oregonians pull together in times of crisis. We are extremely grateful for the cooperation and support that we received from government agencies, private sector partners, communities and individual citizens.
  • Exercise enhances emergency response capabilities
Agencies work together during training exercise
As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect. That's why 27 emergency communications employees from Oregon and Washington got together recently for an emergency exercise. The training exercise simulates real-world situations to expand and enhance responders' abilities to adapt to the unpredictable and challenging conditions that arise in emergencies.
  • ARRA transportation funds flowing into Oregon economy
An ARRA sign identifies a stimulus funded highway project.
Over the past two years, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has supported Oregon's economy and residents in many ways, including funding hundreds of transportation-related projects around the state.
